1 year passed, now what?

This is the day the one year mark will be passed. I have been reading a lot of your tweets today, and I feel the panic starting at Twitter. Well, it actually started some days ago, but today it is growing – fast.

I sense a lot of pain in the tweets, but I also sense something else, and you might be mad at me for saying this, but I think I am entitled to. I sense mass hysteria, mass grief and mass influence. Are you all keeping yourself stuck in your pain, by reading about and absorbing other fans pains?

Making WeMissMJ a trending topic is the most important task today for some, and they keep tweeting it and retweeting it. Please don’t get so caught up in this, that you forget to send Michael some real thoughts. Remembering a loved one that are no longer here, is about taking that quiet time for yourself and think back. Listen to the music and feel the love.
Some have written they feel fear. Of what I might ask?
I think the worst thing that could happen in this, happened a year ago exactly. What else, that could cause fear, could possibly happen today?

I also read tweets like “Just home from school” and the same goes on “Michael Jackson you gives me butterflies inside”.. What image of Michael do you keep? Is he the young Michael in your dreams? Because if he is, I am sorry to say you are stuck in something that are not real, and wishing the young Michael back is just very unrealistic.

I even see tweeters declaring their love to both Michael and Justin Bieber at the same time, we are talking about two men, with 36 years in age difference.

And then there are the biggest paradox of them all. How is it possible to believe in the hoax and mourn Michael’s death at the same time? I mean come on, make a decision and stick to it.

Of course it is okay to miss him, and he really should be both missed and mourned, but on Twitter it sometimes feels like a competition in writing the most depressing tweets. If you believe he is alive, how do you think he would feel by reading these tweets?

One year passed and a lot of you are almost drowning in your grief. But I don’t think Michael would want all this grief and sadness, he would want you all to smile and be strong – no matter what – because that was what he was about all his life. He had fun, despite so many people trying to make his life hell. I think Michael lived by an old Winston Churchill saying: “If you’re going through hell, keep going“. That’s what Michael did, he kept going.

I am going to remember Michael today by listening to some music, seeing some tv about him tonight. I will not let others drag me down into a black hole of depression. I will think happy thoughts, happy memories, hoping they will reach him wherever he is.

Because no matter what, nothing will be different tomorrow or next week. And I am not trying to be mean or disrespectful to your grief and pain, I am just saying maybe enough is enough and maybe it is a little too much?

I think this mass hysteria needs to end. You alone decide to participate or not.  Make a change, it starts with YOU!

A great post, Zilda. I was watching some of the tributes on TV for Michael. I think this pretty much seals the deal for me. He was here, He was great, we enjoyed him, we cried for him, we will remember him. Michael is where he wants to be. He hopefully has found peace and happiness.
We cannot continue to wait and wish for a return. We need to celebrate what a great entertainer, and humanitarian he was.
I still believe he is alive. Almost all of the world doesn’t and that is ok. That is the way Michael wants it. By dragging up all the old pain of a year ago, is not going to help anyone. Let’s move on,let’s listen to his music, let’s think about what we had and what we will continue to have with these memories.
Michael, you are very, very much loved and respected. I think it is very unfortunate that it took death for some people to realize this. But then again, that is ok too. Better late than never huh??

Today I heard some music and YES Billie Jean lifted me up on a higher stage.. I simply love the beat from that song… So today I will celebrate the man he was.. Yes he have been through some very tough times in his life but he came back showing that nothing could bring him down.. Today isn’t a sad day for me but a day where I can remember Michael Jackson for what he really was.. And like MissZilda wrote please write something decent about him for you never know IF he or his family reads your messages… What if he is alive?? Is that really so important.. My answer is no.. If he is out there i’m sure he is okay and i’m sure he enjoys his life now..

Today is a celebration well it is for me.. A celebration to what we came to know as The King Of Pop…

Today isn’t a sad day for me. I listened to the radio and there was a megamix from Michael. All his songs put together and it was absolutly fantastic. My youngest daughter and I scream our lungs out and had so much fun! That’s what we have to remember and enjoy..his legacy. Tonight i’m gonna be glued to my tv and gonna zapp to every channel there is and enjoy all the tributes there is about our King Of Pop. We will never forget him because he is The Man, The Myth, The Legend! And I’m sure that where ever he is in heaven or some where out there he’s happy, healty and safe. And that’s what really matters to me.

i know what day it is today and yes i feel something – i dont know what that feeling is. i think it is a respectful knowledge of a death. i have felt that feeling before, for a loved one that had passed.

i have read Joe Jacksons wrongful death papers filed at court today on TMZ and that is profoundly sad, and for his father to have to do that today. but i am sure he is strong in knowing that he is doing the best for his son today.

i think that today whilst we miss michael, that really the family and his friends may need the greatest of support; for them it will be a long time before they feel peace and can enjoy the sweet memories of having this amazing person in their lives. all i can wish them is love and the support of each other and the time to find peace.

I see the hoax believers are still looking for clues even today! – i hope they too find their peace and soon.

and for us ordinary folk – enjoy the memories, dance, sing, moonwalk and above all be thankful that Joe and Katherine had this beautiful and special little boy Michael Jackson.

    RIP sweet Michael xxx

What was it Michael had said? “That’s enough for today”…I will never have enough of MJ but I think MJ has had enough and today is a sign of that. It’s time to let the hoax go and love the man, the memeories, the music…

i am very concerned about some of the hoax believers. the moderators refuse to allow the posters to discuss the possibility or the reality that michael is dead. i think that the time has come and it is well over due that these forums open up, allow their posters to feel their loss and discuss it openly instead of banning such natural discussions. Michael is gone, holding people’s minds prisoner in hoax forums, to the hoax is very unkind and may cause long term emotional problems. site moderators should be more responsible. this is not a game, there will never be any bamsday, this is not a movie, this is not mj’s grand plan, this is not a wonderful adverture for the chosen few, michael has gone. i would love to be wrong. i would love that global announcement – but it is never going to come. as sad as that is – thats the reality.

Well Arabian Night you couldn’t be more right here… I too believe the hoaxers are in some sort of a prison towards their own and others feelings.. They are held there hanging on to a straw hoping their Idol will come back and it is sad to see what they are doing to themselves emotinally and to Michael as well.. Before june 25th 2009 Michaels life was exposed by the media but after june 225th last year the so called fans ripped Michaels life apart.. To me this is what hurts the most.. To see his life, his familys life and his childrens life being completly torned apart by his fans.. I personally think they should let go and move on.. Go on with their life and enjoy the man he was… That is what a real fan would do..

      Just my 2 cents 🙂

Yes, you are right. Not just the Moderators or the Administrators, but the rest of your fellow members will get angry at you if you dare to suggest that things were not a fairy tail in Michael’s life.
Sadly, there will be always a new “significative date for Michael to return” to look forward to.

I hope you finally found some peace Michael x

It is a little sadness in my heart even I finally agree with the thought that the world did suffer this huge lost.Michael was the bow touching the violins from the souls of the people who understand his message. The rhythm of his music is the rhythm of our hearts beating.I’m grateful he was with us for a while and I hope he has finally found his peace.
All my love and respect for the incontestable KING OF POP.
    (I won’t lie:I am still sad…)

I think this last year would’ve been a good lesson for MJ to understand just what his fans really think and feel towards him. To get inside the minds of the fans and what causes their hysteria, to get a different perspective on things…when you read the hoax forms, you can read tabloid attitude in what is written. What’s sad is the fact that the people writing…they don’t think that they’re doing it. If they could take a step back and look at their personality as others do, they might not write on the forums anymore. They don’t seem to realize that everyone can read what they wrote. All they have to do is Google their user name and there it is for everyone to see, it’s not as private as they think…

I agree. We should be happy and chill with his music and tributes. As for the hoax and making up their mind, i think they are mourning at the fact that he didnt come back today. Today was a really big day for them because they thought he would make his come back today, and they are devastated that he didn’t. so. I really miss him though. yesterday i was watching the “Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough” music video, and i couldn’t help but smile. If you watch it, you’ll see him smile the whole way through, and his smile just makes me smile, doesn’t matter if i’m in the worst mood of my life. While I was smiling, I couldn’t help but feel saddened at the same time. There was a man who devoted his life to music and making himself and his fans happy. and i felt saddened that the media and some of the things that the record company, or his sponsors made him do that drove him to his demise. also his father. ohhh child he better hope i never met him. someone might get hurt and i’ll tell you, it wont be me.

    Anyways, R.I.P Michael Jackson

But I was sad too yesterday. And didnt thought i would be sad because you know, i believe he is still here but i was sad. Because I know I will prob never see him again. But then you watch like you said Don’t stop till you get enough or something and you just smile. I am so happy he made this music that just can help you in hard times. 🙂

okay, i hear you, but what about the possibility that he is dead, the ambulance could have been faked and nothing at all to do with mike. but forget about the hoax, what about his music, his talent as a song writer, his ability to draw, his music videos, being able to sing live and he won many awards. if you have a look at wiki you can see his achievements or michael jackson – a visual documentary – the official tribute, at the back pages its list them eg
      these are the numbers listed
      14 dvd’s
      12 video’s
      1 e-video
      40 vinyl albums
there are so many number it would take me some time to count
      but where is wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_awards_received_by_Michael_Jackson
“Michael Jackson was an American recording artist, songwriter, and entertainer. He debuted on the professional music scene at the age of 11, as a member of The Jackson 5, and began a solo career in 1971 while still a member of the group. Referred to as the “King of Pop” in subsequent years,[1] five of his solo studio albums have become some of the world’s best-selling records: Off the Wall (1979), Thriller (1982), Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991) and HIStory (1995). Thriller has remained the biggest selling album of all time with reported sales of 110 million and a Recording Industry Association of America certification of 29 million units.[2]

Through his group, solo, and family work, he became one of the few artists to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice. Jackson’s other achievements include 13 Guinness World Records—including one for “Most Successful Entertainer of All Time”—19 Grammy Awards, 26 American Music Awards, 12 World Music Awards and the sale of over 780 million units worldwide.[3] Winning numerous awards for his humanitarian endeavors, the singer has been honoured by two Presidents of the United States. He has also been named as the artist of “the Decade”, “Generation”, “Century”, and “Millenium” and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2002. He is the most awarded artist of all time [4] and has more Guinness World Records than any other artist.[5]”
      “Major Awards Wins
      American Music Awards 26
      Billboard Awards 40
      BRIT Awards 7
      Golden Globe Awards 1
      MOBO Awards 1

mike gave away so much money to charity – almost equal to the debt he left behind. he did this with a full heart.

he was also a father to three children and had touched so many peoples lives in a positive way

from many accounts from people who knew him – it seems that he was a really a nice person.

  13. the arabian nights
    June 27, 2010 at 11:19

Well you assume that he has hoaxed, he could be dead.

You say you don’t have a kind word to say about the man, are you talking about his character, because I assume that you have never met him, so you are basing your view on what. I was never a fan so I don’t have fan spectacles on.

But surely you have to accept –
    · That he was a successful entertainer
    · That he could sing live and hold a tune
    · That on occasion he sang in Spanish and French
    · That he could draw, that he could play the piano
    · That he was a great admirer of other peoples work and was so humble, e.g. Fred Astaire, James Brown, R Kelly, Usher, Justine Timberlake, the list continues
    · That he was a humanitarian – that he gave hundred’s of millions of $ to charity, that he visited hospital and provided toys, provided money for treatment and funeral expenses, he wrote – gone to soon
    · He wrote and gave his time freely for charity songs
    · He wrote and spoke about uniting as a world community, to look after our own back garden’s the earth our world not just for us but also for our children.
    · That he was a father to 3 children
    · That he was a son, a brother and relative to the Jackson clan
    · That he touched so many peoples lives
    · That he was arguable the most famous man live
    · That he had a style that many copied and is identifiable
    · That many who had been associated speak highly of him
    · He gave joy to so many children – who learnt to moonwalk, wore the white glove and did the moves
    · He has brought joy to many – with the thrill the world flash dance
    · He also did not have much of a choice he was a child star (5 years when this started) and made it through to adulthood, that is an achievement in itself
    · To think also that when the started the world was a different place in US and he still made it through those difficult times
    · What I think was funny was at the Memorial Rev Al – said that Mike always had his trousers pulled up, and it was true; he always dressed well and did not degrade people, was respectful.

It is true that you can see negatives in anyone’s character – I am sure you see them within yourself, or your best friends, some we change if we can, some we have to learn to accept or agree to differ on, or turn a blind eye.

I don’t know what you see of him, but surely you can find one good word somewhere?

  14. karen

Hurricane, I can understand what you are saying. But…one wrong word can change history forever and why was a good soul punished for a sin that was never committed? Look past what you want to see and view what really is, If you have eyes…you will see.

He wouldn’t be the first one to hoax his death… And if someone comes to a decision that desperate. There must be a VERY good reason, and not necessarily a tangible reason. Could be deep inside someone and private. As Karen says look beyond what you see. Hope you understand.

This is the best blog for MJ lovers I have ever seen. And it’s based on the best of intentions. So good to read of others who feel as I do: If Michael is still alive (and it’s quite possible), he disappeared for one or more very good reasons. Given the circumstances of his life, disappearing would have been a bold and brilliant move. And bold and brilliant moves are what Michael is all about. God will protect him if he’s in hiding. And God is with him if he isn’t. And Michael, if you ever pass through Chicago, I’m here if you need money or help. And when you’re gone, like we say here, “I don’t know nuthin’ about it.” And God bless this blog.

One man can not live up to the images that so many have of him.

i think credit where credit is due.

Today, I took my husband and youngest (5 yr.old)grandson shopping with me. My grandson had some of his own money to spend and as he’s looking through the toys, I thought, ‘what a joy it is to spend time with him and see the world as he does.’ If MJ is alive, I hope he can enjoy being an anonymous person to shop with the kids without all of the attention he used to get. It was so nice to be with my grandson listen to him figure out what he could buy with his ‘dollars’. Anyone who trys to ‘smoke’ MJ out should stop and think about what that might take away from him…all the little normal things that he could enjoy now…He deserved his privacy along time ago. It doesn’t matter what the reason is that he is ‘gone’ just as long as he finds some happiness…

i wasnt being mean, they said they didnt have one good word to say about mj, i found a few things that he did, and i wonder if still – they still cannot find one good word?

i am not a fan – but i can see the good. that was the reason for my posts – that was all.

you think the hoax was for money, it may be – or a natural consequence – who knows, if he announced he was retiring from public life, people would still buy his music – maybe at the levels now – who knows.

all i was addressing was – your friend saying – that they cant find a good word. is that still the case? have they done their homework?

I think MJJ´s speech about love and freedom is important. Everyone must pay attention to it. I think he meant it from the bottom of his heart.
